Frederiksberg London Dry Gin

Denmark

Description

A really small batch project by Henrik Hammer (Geranium etc.), setup underneath city town hall in the municipality of Frederiksberg, in Copenhagen....!

And furthermore - the botanicals have (mostly) been collected in the nearby Frederiksberg Gardens, to try making a truely local product.

But that's not all....! Our guess is, that at least one of the 7 botanicals in the Gin, will surprise you - and that's the acorn...! Oh yes - acorn....!

The total list of botanicals is:

  • Juniper berries
  • Acorn
  • Lavendar flowers
  • Liquorish root
  • Pink grape fruit peel
  • Coriander seeds
  • Wild Angelica root

And now to the interesting stuff - is is any good? Oh yes.....! And then some.....!!!

The Gin is beautiful, with the junipers standing out in a very "here I am"-kinda way.....! But not heavy and overpowering everything else. But leaving room for the citrus and the slight fatty acorn, ending with ofcourse, the liquorish root.

We have to admit, that we have a hard time finding the lavender in there, and suspect its due to the fact, the amount is very small - but honestly, we don't know...

The product was made in only 200 bottles to begin with, but have since then been made in very limited numbers.

(Some) known ingredients in this Gin (in Danish)
