KEW Organic gin is made by London Distillery Company, also known for their famous Dodd’s Gin. This time they went even further in their search for local products to use. They went to the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens, KEW and got the permission to harvest 27 of the 42 botanicals there. They use 6 types of lavender, 2 types of juniper and five different varieties of citrus: lemon, lime, pink grapefruit peel, orange peel and bergamot peel.
The result is quite different – the smell of pine and citrus notes are prominent – the taste notes includes juniper, coriander, citrus and white pepper, spice and a hint of lavender. For those who don’t like a “hard” juniper style gin, you don’t have to worry as this gin is a masterclass in how balanced a gin should be!
